About Us

In 2022, NSCG formed our Food, Beverage & Entertainment sector. As we continue to grow our business, our goal is to establish consistent branding across all segments of our business. NSCG FB&E owns and operates 6 Restaurants in the Northern suburbs of Chicago and southeastern, Wisconsin/Illinois border.

 

NSCG FB&E owns an authentic Italian restaurant, Oliverii North, located in downtown Antioch, IL.  Founder, Guido Oliverii wanted a trattoria in a destination village close to the Wisconsin border. He opened Oliverii North in Antioch during the Spring of 2005.

 

Next, is Whistle Stop Cafe, located only a short walk from the Metra Train line in downtown Fox Lake. Whistle Stop Cafe first opened in Fox Lake, IL in 1996. The unique decor, location, and atmosphere set the tone for the small-town quaint diner feel.

 

Just over the border into Wisconsin, Red School Cafe, was a one room schoolhouse originally built in 1889. Formally known as Pikeville School, it was remodeled back in 1983 when it was moved about 100 feet northwest from its original location. Then in May of 1970 the school was transformed into a restaurant.

We've been serving the Bristol, WI community as a Restaurant for 53 years this May!

In December 2023, FB&E purchased 3 additional Restaurants in Lake County. The first, Hillside Family Restaurant, is located off of Barron Blvd in Grayslake. Hillside Family Restaurant first opened in February of 1993 and has been renovated from the white brick exterior to the bright, modern dining room. Serving breakfast everyday and homemade soups made fresh daily!

Not too far from Hillside Restaurant, is JJ Twig's in Antioch on main street! Formerly known as Johnny’s Chophouse in the early 2000’s. Originally purchased in 1997 by John Katris, the Katris family changed the name in June 2020 to Johnny’s Snack Shop. In January 2025, the Owners of NSCG FB&E rebranded Johnny's into JJ Twigs of Antioch. Carrying over the same menu and branding as our other JJ Twigs location in Wauconda.

JJ Twig's Pizza & Pub is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has been serving up delicious pizzas and pub favorites since 1991. Our menu features a wide range of items, including our famous double decker and thin crust pizzas, burgers, wings, sandwiches, and more! In the summer, we offer recreational volleyball leagues and have an outdoor bar and seating area for a casual outing with friends and family. The private party room is perfect for hosting special events!
